I can't believe that I have not commented on John Hughes' passing when I have a whole entry dedicated to Michael Jackson.  But honestly, I can't really say it as well as my dear cousin Christopher.  
Ferris Bueller's Day Off has been my favorite film since I first watched it on VHS when I was about 10.  That was 1987, the year after its cinematic release.  And unlike my experience with re-watching Labyrinth as an adult, FBDO holds up timelessly.
