Patent Pending, People! I made up a new term and it is currently under review by the oh so "discerning" editors of Urban Dictionary: Dad Crush.
Dad Crush
When one feels affection, admiration, or adoration for a man in a fatherly way, similar to man crush. A non-sexual attraction, usually based on a degree of veneration.
"My boss always seems to genuinely care about how I'm doing and that I'm not talking to my scummy ex-boyfriend. I have such a Dad Crush on him."
Seriously. I have such a Dad Crush on my boss. I think because he reminds me of my dad and I think Dad and he would get along smashingly and because my boss has a daughter that is close to my age, so he kinda treats me like a daughter too. It's kind of a weird relationship to have to your boss, but on the same token, it rules because he gets the respect of a father from me without the residue teenager bullshit. Even though I'm 2 months from 32.
A few of mine were "Mind Crush" and "Hypocritical Mass" both taken by some gaddamned wanker tube dwellers. F.
